EHON webinar: Andrea Kottmann – Determinants of the innovation behaviour of teachers in higher education

Thursday, 23th of May, 2024, dr. Andrea Kottmann will provide a webinar to Ehon members on:

Determinants of the innovation behaviour of teachers in higher education

The webinar will summarise findings from a survey among teachers at Norwegian higher education institutions. These were studied regards their innovative behaviour, i.e., how and to what extent they use educational innovation and how strongly factors such as motivation, dissemination and institutional support stimulate a certain type of behaviour in teachers.

In the presentation, the different types of innovation behaviour will be described in more detail. Also, approaches to reach out to these different types of teachers in the context of the Dutch Centres for Teaching and Learning will be suggested. During the interactive part, participants are invited to discuss the findings and suggested approaches.

Dr Andrea Kottmann is an assistant professor at the KiTeS Section at the University of Twente. Since 2005 she has conducted research on higher education topics, including educational change policies or the organisational aspects of innovation of education at higher education institutions. Studying the impact of Centres for Teaching and Learning is a specific focus of her work.
